The Strangers of New Valhalla: Preview Article 11 - Domo Arigatou Mrs. Roboto~

Greetings Rulers! Jeremy Franklin from Force of Will Ruler School, bringing you guys a lesson in technology with these awesome Blue spoilers, including the appearance of the 2nd Blue Super Rare!

Arthur may be the king of machines, but he is nothing without his Queen Guinevere, and she has come back from her long journey between worlds to lead the charge! Taking up the 1 drop slot in a machine deck, she doesn’t have a lot of strength by herself, but with an army of machines by her side she punishes any who would bring ruin to her kingdom. With her first ability she can set herself up as an early aggressor, or help buff another machine so they can punch through a tough opponent. If your machines would be destroyed, she can make sure their destruction isn’t in vain by sacrificing them to give herself a permanent stat boost, and that includes all machines not just resonators! Not only that, but she brings with her a new power similar to Lancelots, by spending 12 counters from machines you control, she can call Camelot itself to bear down and provide fire support. With Lancelot and Guinevere both ready to spend the counters, you will have plenty of ways to answer whatever your opponents may have to oppose you!

With Guinevere finally back, a new tool becomes accessible to Arthur in the form of her Master Rune. Machines thrive on having a diverse board of creatures so that they can go wide and overwhelm their opponent, and with Skynet you are even more rewarded for keeping as many creatures on field as possible. For a simple 3 will (if you are playing Arthur) you add up the total attack of all machine resonators you control, then send it hurtling down as damage to your opponents resonators in any combinations you deem fit! Think of it as a more precise and customizable Whirlwind Conflagration, that sacrifices the ability to hit J-rulers or Players but makes up for it by guaranteeing perfect destruction for anything you target, provided you can keep your army alive! Up to this point, Arthur has been taking a back seat to Loki when it comes to machines, but with access to this Rune, He is ready to jump back in and show us what he can do!

So let’s take a look at Camelot. While by itself it seems expensive, 6 cost for a 12/12 flyer that only bounces 2 cards, cheating it out with Guinevere means that you get to destroy those resonators instead all while applying a massive amount of pressure your opponent will need to answer immediately if they want to survive for long. Guinvere isn’t the only way to cheat in Camelot though, thanks to the new Rune Teleport! If you can figure out ways to stack your deck to put Camelot, or any other large resonator really, on the top of the deck then cast this card, you could generate quite a bit of value when your opponent isn’t ready to deal with it!

The armies of SkyRound are coming up with new technology and building new weapons in order to complete their mission, but you will have to tune in for more spoilers tomorrow to see what the other armies are bringing to the table in The Strangers of New Valhalla, on sale January 18th 2019!
