The Strangers of New Valhalla: Preview Article 12 - Yee of Little Faith~

Hey there Rulers, I hope you’ve enjoyed Week 4 of your spoilers! We’re ending spoilers this week with a bang, so I hope you enjoy!!

Misteltein, one of Brunhild’s commanders, is back from her religious mission. This Wanderer is back and here to pack a punch in the New Frontiers meta! With the ability to resurrect fallen companions in combination with her leader (or other rune ruler), she is a force to be reckoned with. Not only is she a card advantage machine, but she helps pay for your first rune (and thus your first resonator resuscitation) with her first ability. Keep in mind that this ability can help pay for any rune, but only runes from your rune area will bring back the fallen!

However, if that weren’t enough, she also has a tertiary ability that allows her to destroy any resonator that blocks or is blocked by her, essentially making her unblockable except by J-rulers and resonators with the [Eternal] keyword. No one can match Misteltein's combat ability in offense or defense with her ethereal blades guiding her way! Use her wisely, as she can turn games by herself!

Misteltein also has a special weapon known as the Blade of Faith that she uses in her service of Brunhild. This card also packs a punch, allowing Brunhild to run four copies of a one-cost card that removes resonators from the game, albeit at main timing in the main deck. This card is sure to power up Brunhild builds who can compound the value by running cards like Messenger of the Sun to draw into more power and keep powerful additions down.

Misteltein isn’t alone on the battlefield leading Brunhild’s armies; Reginleif has also come to fight! She might be slighter than Misteltein, but she provides a strong support role, recovering all resonators you control at the end of each of your turns. This ability could serve crucial to protecting your resonators from battle on your opponent’s turn or allowing them to protect your life points.

Finally, we see the third Heroic Spirit card, this time at four cost (notice a pattern?). She controls your opponent’s side of the field, resting a number of resonators equal to the Heroic Spirits you control. Since she is a Heroic Spirit herself, she will be able to count towards her own ability. This can be used for a lethal damage turn, or this can be used to rest the resonators your opponent controls that you want to be able to attack into that turn. And do keep in mind some of the Heroic Spirit resonators in Wanderer include Lars ENW and Mariabella RDE, so feel free to play around with this race!

That’s it for spoilers this week! Look forward to next week on Wednesday when we will spoil the rest of the remaining cards!
